I’ve been fishing with the Okuma Euphoria 3–5oz rod and Okuma Ceymar C65 reel combo for about two years now, spooled with Boss Perma Black 30lb slick braid and a matching leader setup.
The rod performs exceptionally well for edible fishing. It’s built on a 36-ton Toray Carbon blank, making it both lightweight and highly responsive. You can comfortably fish with it for extended periods, and the sensitivity allows you to pick up even the slightest movement. Once you dial in your casting technique, it delivers excellent distance and consistency. The availability of different weight classes also adds to its versatility.
The Ceymar C65 reel complements the rod perfectly. With 8 ball bearings, the retrieve is smooth and consistent. It has proven to be a reliable reel that handles regular use with ease. The spool capacity is more than sufficient for braid setups, and the line lay is neat and even, which contributes to better casting performance overall.
