Yes, I'm a foodie. But that doesn't mean I'm easy to please with regards to food. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I'm an extremely fussy foodie.

I stumbled across 's kitchen on Facebook, while engaging in some idle browsing.
I don't know what really compelled me to keep scrolling through the posts but I'm glad I did.

A post about home made fries topped with a carrot relish, mayo and cheese, baked to perfection before serving really grabbed my attention.
Now ya'll know I love the versatile potato as well cheese!

I contacted Vernita to order some Hot carrot relish and the Indomayo, really just hoping they taste as good as they look!

It was relief to know she offered a collection point in my vicinity Umhlanga. So I tried the hand cut chips with the carrot relish, indomayo and cheese! I was blown away at the flavor sensation! I'm actually having this for dinner on Monday night, again.

I then decided to try a humble toasted cheese which I've not had in a long time. I loaded on the relish as well as the indomayo in my 3 cheese toastie (mozzarella, gouda and Emmental). Wow! I practically hoovered the toastie within minutes!

If you like the flavor of Indian pickles aka achaar you will love the carrot relish. It has a wonderful light sweetness to it, a wonderful bite and my relief no tang. The indomayo is great too!

About Friday Evening.
When you manage to get the kitty into his travel box for the vet visit, and when you receive a not too bad diagnosis, and the vet tells you your kitty with IBD has gained some weight (not easy for IBD cats), you have to pop open a bottle of delicious, decadent MCC to celebrate!

These beauties I shopped for online arrived in two batches, one case arrived last Friday and the other this week! I love the label! I also adore the label at the back of the bottle, it's makes for a fun, engaging, chuckle inducing read. (I'll load it later today).
Look at the gorgeous, sparkle!
Moreson Miss Molly Nectar Royale is my new favorite MCC! Yum! The quality of the bubbles and fizz can easily be seen in the video, while the flavor on your palete is indescribable. Really enjoyed sipping away my Friday afternoon on this whimsical MCC

It's far too hot in Durban at present but these will go down a treat during our so called winter!

I apologize profusely! I have not uploaded a review in ages!

I have been working extremely hard to try and get one of my other business ventures off the ground completely, and it seemssaud business has garnered its own interest and a life of it's own. That's phenomenal! It exactly what my business partner and I wanted!

Despite being a "millennial" I'm an old soul! Managing one Instagram account is tough enough for me, never mind a handful! Please excuse my long silences!

Winding down Sunday evening with a delicious Chenin Blanc from Two Oceans Vineyards! It's scrumptious and gains a natural sweetness as it breathes!

I never really shopped much Checkers until I can across their amazing wine specials around Dec last year.

While there I noticed staff packing items for the Sixty60 online shopping with Checkers and I thought to myself "wow! I must give this a try" because admittedly the pandemic has got me aottle addicted to online shopping.

So just before Christmas, (I have not been out now since mid December, practicing level 5 lockdown), I was craving a cheese platter but I didn't have many items on hand. I have the Sixty60 a go.

I got the cheeses I needed for my conservative cheese platter as well as a few other items.
Service from delivery staff : efficient.
Covid protocols followed, he wore a mask and maintained social distancing ✔️.
Sixty60 app: easy to use. They keep in touch with you while they are shopping. If something from your list is unavailable they alert you right away.
Packaging : excellent.
Quality of items received : perfect. Fresh. Clean (we sanitized everything due to covid)

The wine is also from Checkers.

I've used the Sixty60 app many times since and have no complaints. Also if something you bought was not upto standard Checkers does not hesitate in refunding you, unlike WOOLWORTHS where I have and continue to face numerous battles with refunds.

Crisp, citrusy, refreshing. A very light wine, to be enjoyed chilled.

I served it with a Thai Green Curry, however, something with a hint of sweetness would have paired better with the meal, but I'm always up for experimenting.

Pretty sharp on the palate, this a is remarkable red, full of spice and fruit!

Summer and red wine are not always a good pair however, I really enjoyed the Deetlefs Wine Estate

It's been a really long time since I ordered from Bird & Co. Florida Road . Actually it's been a year. I was not happy with our last purchase and thus decided against buying from them.

Roll on Dec 2020, after seeing so many adverts of their saucy chicken on Facebook, I decided to call the Floroda road branch, speak with the manager to address my concerns before placing my order directly through him. All I can say is I was not disappointed.

Jivan, the manager was extremely helpful and efficient. He made sure the order of a full chicken, half hot half mild, plus 2 sides of chips and the refreshing lime slaw was made and packaged to perfection. He recommended having the sauce packed in separate containers so as to avoid spillage during our travel back home with the takeaway meals. At the time, Bird& Co was running an awesome special where R250 got you the above mentioned (2 sides of your choice) plus 2 salads, plus 2 x2L fizzy drinks.

After taking our order telephonically, Jivan was kind enough to deliver the order to my car.

Quick, efficient and friendly service.
The food was extremely delicious and satisfying. The chicken tender and succulent.
