I have been waiting for this website project to go live because I am in love with it! And it's finally up and ready to rock and roll. If anyone is overlanding through Botswana, looking for a base in Maun, wanting to hire a 4x4 for their travels or go on a guided tour while in the area, contact Maun Waterfront Guesthouse. I have been busy! The updated Prince Albert Open Gardens website is now live, ready for the 2026 event! If you are in the Karoo or planning a trip, take a look at the incredible indigenous, water wise and wildlife friendly gardens, along with this year’s walks, talks and workshops.

This was as always, a beautiful project to work on, featuring the amazing photography of my good friend Inga Terblanche (unless otherwise credited). Check out IngaPixel for more of her work!

I get to design quite a few online stores for people which is amazing to do - especially when it takes a good product and gives it a much larger audience. Happy clients = happy me! 😃

I have been absent from "selling myself" for a long time as I find it so cringe! But lately I have discovered that many people don't even know what it is that I do for a living so here we go - the start of a new journey to inform everyone of the work that I love so much.

I was a professional photographer (yes I studied that for 4 years!) in the commercial, corporate and editorial industries and had an amazing career - until i didn't anymore, for a whole host of reasons, and fell into web design by mistake. I discovered that I loved it!

So for the last 10 years, instead of clicking away with my camera, I have been tapping away at my computer, designing websites and meeting amazing clients, helping to build and market businesses and it has honestly become a big passion.

My long experience with photography and a bit of graphic design has given me a good eye, and my time in corporate and professional industries, a solid understanding of business. This means I create websites that are designed to attract the right people and communicate the right message, not just look good.

But enough blabbing! The proof is in the pudding I say! Today I am starting with one of my favourite projects so far. A website created for a beautiful guesthouse in the town of Prince Albert in the Karoo, South Africa, which currently ranks 6th best B&B in Africa on Trip Advisor. The clients are wonderful to work with and together we created something really special.

*Hint: The key to any great showcase is exceptional images. People are visual! In this collab the co-owner, Inga Terblanche, happens to be an outstanding photographer (and a good friend) so that part was easy.

EMAIL Phishing! HOW TO TELL: I have noticed a big increase in email phishing - especially from what looks like the hosting service providers of my clients websites.
There is one easy way to tell if it is a scam:
Check the email address that it has been sent FROM. The name and subject line may look legit but if the actual email address is something that doesn't resemble the company then it's Phishing for sure.
Sometimes you might have to look closely for spelling errors in the email address as these guys get crafty.
"Undisclosed recipients" is also a red flag!

PLEASE NOTE: If you are unsure if the email being sent to you is a scam or not - delete it and contact the company in question and ask them if they do want whatever the email was asking.
Do not just give details - especially any details to do with finance through an email.
Or you can go and login into your account online (not through the email) and see if what is being requested is a notification on your account.
