The Investment Bridge — Defining What We Do
There is a conversation that rarely happens in the same room.
On one side: investors asking about opportunity, risk, regulatory clarity, and commercial return.
On the other: governments asking about job creation, competitive economic positioning, poverty reduction, and which investors are serious.
For nine years, The African Storyteller has sat between those two conversations — finding the synergies, building the platforms, and writing the intelligence that makes investment materialise.
We are not a PR agency. We are not a government lobbying firm. We are the bridge.
Retained by investors who need policy alignment. By governments who need credible capital. By corporations who need both.
We measure our success in the jobs created, the markets made more competitive, and the investments that last long after the forum has ended.
That is what it means to enable investment to materialise — and to build outcomes that last for generations.

Could Hon. Martha Karua SC be Kenya's first female President?

In this exclusive One on One episode of the African Storyteller podcast, we welcome Honourable Martha Karua SC — the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) Leader, former Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Senior Counsel, and renowned human rights activist — as our special guest ahead of Kenya’s 2027 elections.

We revisit her early life, the influence of her family, and the moments that inspired her self-belief and sense of leadership.

She reflects on how her parents helped shape her values, what motivated her to study law, and how her legal journey guided her towards standing up for the marginalised and upholding justice. We’ll also trace the milestones of her remarkable career, as recounted in "Against the Tide": from her roots in Kirinyaga to her work in the judiciary, her evolution from legal activism to politics, and her transition from public office to building a legacy.

Promoting Women's Participation in the Construction Sector
The construction industry in Eswatini serves as a vital economic driver by addressing unemployment and fostering gender inclusivity.

As of 2023, the sector accounts for approximately 6.5% of national employment. It supports economic development through infrastructure projects such as roads, schools, and housing, and creates substantial direct and indirect job opportunities.

The industry is also committed to reducing gender disparities, notably through initiatives led by the Construction Industry Council (CIC).

Mr. Maqhawe Mnisi, CEO of the Construction Industry Council of Eswatini, will be a featured guest speaker at the 2026 2nd Annual Women’s Month Thought Leadership Event, focusing on the role of women in advancing Southern Africa. Mr. Mnisi is an active advocate for increasing female representation in the construction sector and will discuss ongoing efforts to bridge the gender gap within the industry.

Join us at the Royal Villas in Ezulwini on August 1st to gain insights and learn best practices about how the construction sector is advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. For further information, please email [email protected].
