_Clean Audit on Paper, Potholes on the Ground_
From: _Asima Moola | ACC Leader - City of uMhlathuze_
Tonight someone from Empangeni sent me this:
"Potholes past the bend to new Mall β 3 cars damaged tyres in front of me. Trucks buggered it up more."
Earlier today another brother lost 2 tyres on the old cane road between Empangeni & Mtubatuba.
Yet we are being told to celebrate a _Clean Governance Audit_ in uMhlathuze.
Let me be honest:
Clean audit means the books balance in the office. It does NOT mean the road is safe outside.
What is a clean audit worth if our taxis must swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid a hole? What is it worth if a worker loses his whole weeks pay on tyres?
For ACC, clean must mean:
β
Clean ROADS - money spent on fixing, not just reporting
β
Clean ACCOUNTABILITY - if mall trucks damage our road, they must fix it
β
Clean PRIORITIES - certificates don't drive us to work, roads do.
I'm compiling a full report with photos, pin drops & tyre claims for the City and Dept of Transport.
π If that road past new Mall or the Empangeni-Mtubatuba cane road damaged your car, please send me:
1. Photo
2. Pin / location
3. What it cost you
Let's move from _paper clean_ to _ground clean_.
