One year.

A lot of conversations.

A year ago, on 12 September 2025, we started something we hoped would grow into more than just another networking event.

It has.

Over the past year, The 2nd Friday in Fourways has brought business owners and professionals together for conversations, introductions, ideas, collaborations and opportunities.

And now we're celebrating ONE YEAR.

Our September gathering is extra special because we're also moving to our new home at Luigi’s Pizzeria, All Saints Shopping Centre, Fourways.

It’s still the same relaxed networking experience we’ve been building over the past year. Good people. Real conversations. Opportunities to connect, collaborate and grow.

And this one is a little special because we’re also celebrating ONE YEAR of 2nd Friday in Fourways.

Wow. Look at the size of the South African Council for Businesswomen networking event in Johannesburg yesterday!

Now that’s an opportunity to grow your contact list.

But here's the thing...

Networking isn't really about collecting contacts.

It's about creating connections.

Because every person in that room represents a relationship, a conversation, a potential introduction, a shared idea, or an opportunity to help someone else.

And that's one of the reasons I believe and recommend. face-to-face networking.

You get to see people.
You get to hear their stories.
You get to ask the extra question.
You get to become more than a name on a screen.

In other words, people get the opportunity to know you, like you and trust you.

And if we're going to network well, there's one principle worth remembering:

Give before you take.

Don't walk into the room thinking, "Who can help me?"

Walk in thinking:

"Who can I help?"

Because the strongest networks aren't built by collecting the most contacts.

They're built by becoming someone people are happy to know, remember and recommend.

And yes, you'll probably notice the red in the photograph.
