Hoorah had the privilege of spending Mandela Day with the incredible people and kids at Compass; a remarkable non-profit that supports vulnerable individuals and families facing financial hardship, gender-based violence and other difficult circumstances. It's safe to say the team left with their hearts fuller than when they arrived.
Thanks to the generosity of our staff across the agency, we were able to bring pizzas, treats and donations to help brighten the day for the children in Compass' care. Before they'd even unpacked, our team was welcomed with excited chants of "Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!" — followed by the biggest hugs, endless smiles and enthusiastic introductions from every child.
Seeing the work Compass does firsthand was both humbling and inspiring.
A huge thank you to Sam, Fiona and everyone at Compass for welcoming our team so warmly. And a heartfelt thank you to every member of the Hoorah team who gave so generously to make today possible. Your kindness is a reminder that Mandela Day isn't only about 67 minutes of giving back, it's about creating moments of kindness, dignity and human connection that last far longer.
