Now THAT is how you visit a PR agency. 😂

Thank you, Charne, you understood the assignment! 😋🍩

A crisis can be over in your boardroom but still be very much alive online.

That’s the bit I think businesses are underestimating.

You can investigate a crisis, fix it, settle it, change the policy, replace the person responsible and move on. But if none of that makes it onto credible public sources, the internet is left with half the story.

And AI can only work with what it can find.

I believe reputation management needs a new final step: check what the machines think happened.

Ask ChatGPT. Ask Gemini. Ask Perplexity. Search your company, your executives and the actual controversy. Ask the ugly questions.

You might discover that a crisis you closed years ago is still wide open online.

And yes, I brought Stoffel the honey badger into this conversation. 😂

Once you watch the video, you’ll understand why.

The next premium product might simply be a human being who answers the phone with a smile.

As companies automate services, cut contact centres, and bury customers beneath menus, forms and chat bots, actual human attention is becoming surprisingly rare.

In the next few years, “You can speak to a real person” could become a genuine competitive advantage. Imagine that!

Everything is automated and we accidentally make humans luxurious again.

But not at PR Worx.

Meet Patricia Hlongwane, our new receptionist.
Except she wasn’t hired as a receptionist.
Patricia originally joined PR Worx as a stand-in cleaner while our full-time employee was on maternity leave for four months.
And she was phenomenal.
Not phenomenal “for a temporary employee”. Phenomenal, full stop.

Patricia is reliable, switched on, warm, professional, eloquent and takes enormous pride in everything she does. Most importantly, she notices what needs doing without waiting to be told.

So when her temporary contract came to an end, we had a choice.
Say thank you and goodbye because the job she had been hired to do was finished.
Or recognise that the person standing in front of us was capable of far more than the job she had originally been given.
We chose the latter.

We trained Patricia internally and brought in an external consultant to develop her telephone skills, reception etiquette, admin, and confidence. She was also given a complete makeover by a colleague, trained to do her makeup, and thanks to a small budget allocated to her by PR Worx, her wardrobe was also upgraded. She grabbed the opportunities with both hands.

Today, Patricia is the friendly voice you hear when you call PR Worx and one of the first people you meet when you walk through our doors.

And there’s another part to this story that we love.

Our previous receptionist didn’t lose her job to make space for Patricia. She was promoted to Junior Account Executive, and is flourishing in her new position.

That’s what “grow from within” means to us.

Sometimes your next great employee doesn’t arrive with the perfect CV.
Sometimes she’s already working in your building.

You just need to notice her.

Congratulations, Patricia!

Before you spend another cent on a campaign that hears nothing back except echoes, you need to have a little chat with 👑 PRguru 👑

We’ve all been there: the late-night brainstorming sessions, the endless tweaking of tactics, the sheer obsession with HOW we’re going to execute. And then... crickets.

Why? Because you started with the WHAT and the HOW, completely skipping the only thing that actually matters: WHO.

Madelain has been leading PR Worx through 25 years of changing landscapes, and if there is one hard truth she advocates, it’s this: You cannot fake connection.

Here is what happens when you finally stop shouting at the void and start getting clear on your Who:

• You stop chasing shiny objects: Vanity metrics and random trends are a massive distraction. When your WHO becomes your North Star, every single strategy, decision, and action has a purpose.

• You actually get inside their shoes: Empathy isn't a corporate buzzword; it’s the foundation of every single successful campaign. Understand their real fears, their actual desires, and what keeps them up at night.

• You solve real problems: Value isn't what you do, it’s what they receive. Stop building strategies for your own ego and start building them for the people you are actually here to serve.

• You build a legacy: People will forget your KPIs. They will forget your flashy jargon. But they will never forget how you made them feel.

Trends and tactics change but your WHO is your constant.

So, before you greenlight that next big move, take a step back and ask yourself: Who am I really serving today?

Get clear, get focused, and lead with purpose to make a difference in the life of your WHO.

Supporting women is about more than celebrating achievements, it's about creating opportunities, championing diverse voices, and building environments where talent can thrive.

Progress happens when we uplift one another, recognise potential, and open doors that empower women to lead, innovate, and inspire. Every act of mentorship, advocacy, and collaboration contributes to a stronger, more inclusive future.

When women succeed, businesses grow, communities flourish, and everyone benefits.

Awards and recognition are more than milestones, they're a reflection of dedication, innovation, and the impact of work done well.

While accolades should never be the sole measure of success, they offer an opportunity to celebrate progress, acknowledge excellence, and inspire others to aim higher. They also reinforce credibility, strengthen reputation, and recognise the people whose passion drives meaningful results every day.

The greatest achievements aren't just the awards themselves, but the commitment, collaboration, and perseverance that make them possible.

Celebrate success. Value the journey. Keep striving for excellence.

Gratitude is more than a mindset, it's a way of building stronger relationships.

Taking the time to acknowledge the people who support us, the opportunities that challenge us, and the lessons that shape us creates a foundation of trust and respect. In business, gratitude strengthens teams, deepens client relationships, and reminds us that success is rarely achieved alone.

When appreciation is expressed consistently and sincerely, it becomes part of your reputation.

Take a moment to say thank you. Recognise the people who make a difference. Small acts of gratitude often leave the biggest impression.

Knowing your worth isn't about arrogance, it's about recognising the value you bring and having the confidence to communicate it with authenticity.

Whether you're building a personal brand, leading a business, or representing an organisation, understanding your value shapes the opportunities you pursue, the partnerships you build, and the standards you set.

When you know your worth, you stop competing for attention and start creating meaningful impact.
