Mmaiseng News was founded in 2011 by former employees of Motsosakgang Newspaper a former MDDA beneficiary. In 2010 Motsosakang News closed down when the owner passed away. The death of Motsesakgang Publisher left a huge gap in the media landscape as it was the only black owned publication in the the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati and Frances Baaard district Municipalities. Mmaiseng News is based in Pa
mpierstard and Covers Frances Baard and Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipalities which consist of the following municipalities ( Magareng, Phokwane, Dikgatlong, Sol Plaatjie, Diamondsfields and Naledi , Greater Taung, Mamusa. Lekwa-teemane Municipalities respectively )
Mmaiseng News is a bilingual Small Commercial Newspaper printing 10 000 copies and publishing 50 % Tswana, 40% English & 10 % other distributed on a monthly basis. Mmaiseng News targets the black, white and coloured market without eliminating other potential target market. The project mainly focuses on developmental and entertainment issues, and also aims to unite different races, cultures, political, economic and social backgrounds. The project has no political links with any political party.
