South Africa was the first step in BDRC’s expansion into international territory back in 1999, when Linda Findlay packed up her desk in London and shipped the contents 9,000 km due south to set up BDRC’s first international branch office in Cape Town. In 2005, BDRC South Africa became an independent company, but maintained an association with the BDRC Group as it expanded its footprint into Asia, Australia and North America.
After more than 10 years’ operating independently, we are delighted to announce a re-alignment of the businesses through a formal licensing agreement and change in our corporate identity to BDRC Africa.
The new licensing agreement gives the BDRC Group a foothold in Africa once again and provides clients with a single point of entry to the growing African economies through the local office’s existing network of partners and associates across the continent. It also provides invaluable local expertise gained over 17 years’ operating in the region to BDRC Group clients looking to expand their business in Africa.
For the local office, the move provides access to a range of new insight products which will be tailored specifically to the realities of the African markets to meet the needs of both local and international clients operating in the region. Clients will also benefit from ready access to an expanded team of award-winning sector specialists in financial services, travel and tourism, retail, hotels and hospitality, and media. The agreement is a logical step in the global expansion of the BDRC Group and the South African office is a natural partner given our shared history, industry sector focus, business ethos and commitment to providing the highest levels of service and support to our clients to assist them in moving their business forward. BDRC has been at the forefront of thought-leadership in research globally for some time now and we look forward to this next phase of growth in the African business.
