We're looking for a talented mid-weight designer for animated video content. You must have experience designing storyboards, character design and have exceptional layout and typographic skills. Holy cow it's halfway through the year! At 12:00 noon today, we are exactly halfway through the year.

It has been a tough year for all of us, there is no doubt about that. There are so many things that seem out of our control. What we can control though is our perspective, and we would like to gain some perspective today by practicing some gratitude.

As we reflect on the last 6 months of this year, we would like to view our glass as half full.

What are we at HolyCow grateful for?

1. We love what we do and get to have fun everyday doing it.

2. Our industry is on the cutting edge. We are always learning and evolving.

3. We get to work with people from all over the world. We get to explore new cultures, ideas and companies.

4. We make a meaningful impact.

5. We get to work from anywhere. We have the flexibility to have real work/life balance.

6. We have an incredible team. The herd is everything. Magic is in collaboration.

Remember when we were young? We would cut and paste our favourite pictures, making art as often as we could.
Well, at HolyCow, we still do that, and call it a job!

Youthfulness is an energy that can change a country. It rose up against oppression on this day in 1976 and although things today are far from perfect, we now live in a free and fair society. At HolyCow, we bring our youthfulness to work every day - it sparks our imagination, guides our creativity and brings colour to the videos we create for our clients. We believe that no matter what work you do, never forget to play…because we owe it to those who lost their lives for our freedom.

A history of Fools

Whether you've been on the receiving end or playing an epic prank on someone you know, everyone loves a good April Fools.

Some historians speculate that April Fools’ Day dates back to 1582 when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. People who were slow to get the news or failed to recognize that the start of the new year had moved to January 1 and continued to celebrate it during the last week of March through April 1 became the butt of jokes and hoaxes.

These pranks included having paper fish placed on their backs and being referred to as poisson d’avril (April fish), said to symbolize a young, “easily hooked” fish and a gullible person.

Sometimes when you want to make a noise that has real impact you need to close your mouth and listen. Doing this helps us really understand who our clients are and the value that their products bring to the world. This then allows us to tell their stories in an authentic, impactful and entertaining way that will facilitate real connection between them and their audience.

That is where the true magic lies.

Getting positive feedback on the productions we make is so satisfying because it tells us that we have managed to articulate something that our clients could only imagine and could not say themselves.

As the world adjusts to remote everything, it remains vital to educate young minds in best practice.

Virtual trials have replaced in-person courtroom appearances and the Advocates of tomorrow are now learning how to conduct trials entirely online.

We recently completed a training video for the University of Cape Town & DGRU's legal students to learn the dos and don'ts of courtroom etiquette through viewing a mock-trial. The teaser video shows audiences what to expect from the full-length video.
