Today, we celebrate the women whose courage, resilience and leadership continue to shape our world. 💜

This Women's Day, the women of Edelman Africa share the advice they'd give to their younger selves, reminding us that growth isn't about having all the answers, but about embracing every lesson along the way.

To every woman forging her own path, Happy Women's Day.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Today, we celebrate the women who continue to shape Africa through their leadership, resilience and the impact they make every day.

To mark , we asked women from across the Edelman Africa network one question:

What is one belief, lesson or strength you hope African women will pass on to the next generation?

Their reflections are a reminder that the legacy we leave is built not only through what we achieve, but through what we choose to share.

Turns out every PR professional has an origin story. ✨

From childhood passions to unexpected career paths, we asked our team to share the moments that shaped who they are and how they found their way into PR. Safe to say, no two stories are the same.

Happy PR Day to the people behind the pitches, the partnerships and the stories that matter. Here's to celebrating the personalities behind the profession. 💙

This Mandela Month, we're honoured to share that Edelman Africa has been shortlisted at the Gerety Awards (Art Direction) and the Creativepool Annual Awards (Film) for Ode to the Troublemakers, our short film created in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

Inspired by Madiba's legacy, the film celebrates those who challenge the status quo in pursuit of a more just world. It's a reminder that progress has always depended on people willing to question, disrupt and lead with courage.

Congratulations to our team and our partners at the Nelson Mandela Foundation on this recognition.

What does it mean to be Cannes Lions winners? 🦁

We asked members of the Edelman Africa team to reflect on what this milestone means to them.

Every answer points to the same thing: the best work is never created alone. It is built on trust, shared purpose, and the belief that creativity has the power to drive meaningful change. It is also a reflection of our belief that Africa Can Lead. By telling bold African stories and tackling issues that matter most, we have the opportunity to shape conversations not only across the continent, but around the world.

Thank you to our partners at Women For Change for your trust and collaboration, and to everyone who helped make The Unburied Casket possible. This recognition belongs to all of us. 💙

Here's to continuing to create work that matters and proving that Africa can lead on the global stage.

From an idea with purpose to a campaign recognised on the world's biggest creative stage.

The Unburied Casket has already been recognised around the world, but standing in Cannes to celebrate a Silver Lion in Glass: The Lion for Change, following our Bronze Lion earlier this week, is a moment we'll never forget.

From the very beginning, we knew this campaign had the potential to spark an important conversation. What we couldn't have predicted was just how far that conversation would travel, or how deeply it would resonate across the world.

Created in partnership with Women For Change, The Unburied Casket was built on the belief that creativity has the power to challenge injustice, honour those we've lost and inspire meaningful action.

Every award is an incredible honour, but the greatest achievement is seeing this work continue to create conversations that matter.

Thank you to Women For Change, our teams, our partners and everyone who believed in this campaign from the very beginning.

We are immensely proud to have played a part in this journey and grateful to see purpose-led creativity recognised on the global stage.

Congratulations to everyone who made this possible. Here's to telling stories that matter.

We’re proud to share that The Unburied Casket, created in partnership with Women For Change, has been awarded a Bronze Lion in the PR category at Cannes Lions 2026. 🦁

This recognition honours work that challenged one of South Africa’s most urgent social issues, helping bring greater visibility to the country’s femicide crisis and driving a conversation that could not be ignored.

To our teams, partners, and Women For Change, thank you for the courage, commitment, and collaboration behind this campaign. We are honoured to see purpose-led African creativity recognised on one of the world’s biggest stages.

In this special The Feed edition of Stand Up for Africa with Edelman Africa, CEO Karena Crerar reflects on key findings from the 2026 Edelman Trust Barometer for South Africa and what they tell us about the expectations people have of institutions and leaders today.

It's a conversation that sits within a wider discussion on the state of trust across South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria.
