Good day peeps πŸ‘, small and medium sized businesses play a huge role on South Africa's economy but, that's not the only good that comes out of them. Here are few benefits of running a small business according to Gideon Nieman's small business management book.

1. The average capital cost of a job created in the SMME sector is lower than in the big business sector.

2.They allow for more competitive markets.

3. They can adapt more quickly than large organizations to changing preferences and trends.

4.They often use local resources.

5.They provide opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those who are unemployed, under-employed or retrenched.

6. They play a vital role in technical and other innovations.

Now that you've read the benefits of becoming an entrepreneur, will this be enough to convince you to pursue and idea of your own or to encourage a friend?

Good day peepsπŸ‘, hear are a few common myths that can mislead potential small or medium business owners about the entrepreneurship world.

Myth 1: When you establish your business, you only get to do what you enjoy.

Fact: Truth is, entrepreneurs do have an immense amount of freedom to choose but, when most small or medium businesses are started, there are few people on the team therefore, you as the entrepreneur will have to assign yourself to do tasks you may not necessarily enjoy.

Myth 2: The only way to get rich is if you are born from a rich family or by getting a government tender.

Fact: A majority of entrepreneurs do not start out with a huge lump sum money or receive tenders but, if all the right pieces, talent and people are there, the money will follow and keep coming.

Myth 3: Entrepreneurs should be young and vibrant.

Fact: It is never too late to turn into an entrepreneur and besides, older individuals gained more experience in the business industry therefore, they see opportunities or threats where others are not able to.

Myth 4: Money is the sole motivation for entrepreneurs.

Fact: Most entrepreneurs venture into the industry to bring solutions to active problems and they have a personal drive to see their ideas find a niche in the market.

Most people venture into entrepreneurship with knowledge they got from hearsay, and this common mistake causes detriment to most upcoming small or medium sized business owners. We at Boss Moves S.A are here to ensure our upcoming entrepreneurs avoid such incidents in future.πŸ˜‰βœŒ
