Exciting updates from the meeting between South Africa's Creative Industry and ANC NEC Arts, Culture, and Sports Sub-committee! Key concerns regarding the bill were addressed, with CCSA Chairperson Chola Makgamathe highlighting critical issues like insufficient Copyright protection and free usage by commercial tech companies. The ANC pledges to advocate for further parliamentary review of the Copyright Amendment Bill and Performers Protection Amendment Bill. We are looking forward to April 1st, 2024, when President Cyril Ramaphosa meets with the creative industry to discuss progress.
