A big milestone the team! 🚀

We’ve finally stepped back to look at the full transformation of Masutsa Cravings, and the result is incredible. Every destination brand starts with a technical blueprint, and seeing this one move from the screen to a physical installation has been a proud moment.

It feels good to see local brands standing out. 📍

We are currently opening up space to help a few more spots in Randburg and surrounding areas to get this same level of 24/7 visibility. If you’re a business owner (or know one) who wants to turn their storefront into a landmark, we’d love to connect.

Feel free to reach out via message if you want to see what's possible for your space!

I recently created a bold, modern black cover for a restaurant menu a look that felt refined, striking, and full of character. After submitting it, the client gravitated toward a cleaner white version instead.

Moments like this remind me how design is a balance between creative vision and client preference. You bring your expertise, your eye, your craft… and sometimes the final direction still shifts. And that’s okay. It’s all part of creating something that truly represents the client’s brand identity.

While I wait for their final decision, it made me curious about something:

Which one would you pick—black or white?

Working on these two versions taught me a lot about balancing my creative vision with the client’s preferences. I loved the energy in the red design and felt it captured the lounge’s nightlife spirit, but I also understood why the client wanted something simpler and cleaner. It’s always a give-and-take – as a designer I try to bring my creativity, yet I also want the final design to reflect what the client envisions for their brand. In this case, I learned that sometimes a clean, easy-to-read layout (like the white design) can be very effective, especially when it matches the client’s style and brand identity.

In my initial flyer design, I used a deep red background with vivid drink images to capture the lively nightlife vibe of the lounge. I chose warm, intense colors and placed shots of Jägermeister, Gordon’s gin, Chivas Regal, and other cocktails around the text to make the flyer feel energetic. The bold “Tots Special” lettering in yellow stands out sharply against the red, and the whole layout is meant to grab attention and convey excitement. My goal was to evoke the warmth and buzz of an evening at the bar with this concept.

The second version is much simpler, on a clean white background, reflecting the client’s request for a more minimal look. This design is airy and straightforward: the background is plain white, the lounge’s logo and name are in gold-black at the top, and I used black text for the “Tots Special” offer. Fewer drink images appear, symmetrically placed, so there’s plenty of white space. The overall feel is calm and uncluttered, focusing on clarity so the message is easy to read.

At the end of the day, I believe the red version communicates the lounge’s energetic, nighttime atmosphere more effectively. The rich red tones and dynamic imagery immediately convey excitement and warmth, much like the feeling of being in a lively bar. The white version is elegant and clear, but it feels a bit more reserved. For a high-energy lounge and bar environment, that burst of color and vibrancy in the red design really pulls you into the scene.

Which one do you feel draws you in more — and why?

✨ Throwback Project Story ✨

A few months ago, I had the exciting opportunity to design a menu for a unique restaurant called After 9. The name itself immediately stood out to me — it hinted at late-night vibes, cozy conversations, and the kind of meals that feel special after the usual rush of the day.

When I started working on the design, I wanted the menu to do more than just list food — it needed to reflect the personality of After 9. Every detail, from the fonts to the colors, was carefully chosen to capture the mood of the restaurant: warm, inviting, and just a little bit mysterious, like the energy that comes alive when the clock strikes nine.

Looking back at this project, it reminds me why I love what I do. Design isn’t just about making things look good — it’s about creating an experience. This menu wasn’t just paper and ink; it became part of the restaurant’s story and how customers connect with the brand.

I’m grateful to have been trusted with such a project, and I can’t wait to keep creating designs that tell stories in their own way. 🍽️✨

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to work on something exciting — designing the company profile for Mavirate Attorneys ⚖️.
What started as sketches and layout drafts slowly came together into a polished piece that reflects their brand and values.

I recently pulled together some mockups to showcase the cover and inside pages from different perspectives, and it reminded me how much I enjoy bringing designs to life in a way that feels real and tangible.

Every project teaches me something new, and this one was definitely a highlight. 🙌
