Meet one of hip hop underrated rappers Ronald Rolexx Takuva

We are represented in different art forms and different genres as People of The Smoke. Our is Ronald Rolexx Takuva
He is a Zimbabwean hip hop artist known as Rolexx from Mufakose Harare.

He started rapping in 2012 when he recorded his first professional record under Dark City records in Budiriro, also released a couple of singles under Dark City before signing his first recording contract under The Society studios in GlenNorah.

2015 he made his first stage appearance at the Lion lager beer festival before the release of his 14 track debut album (Hood Sanctified) in November 2015.

2016 he got signed under the record label Zi Tribe which produced a couple of successful singles like the song Misodzi, Giri Mari yangu, Mari and Pazvinoita Bho. In 2018 Rolexx left the record label and embarked on an independent journey. November 2018 he collaborated with W.A.N.I films to make a music video for the song Giri Mari Yangu.
He released his second 10 track album in November 2019 for his audience named after his brand name Tall Dark Jaya.

As much as hip hop/ rap is his superpower, he always tries to do more for the hip hop community in Harare. In February 2019 Rolexx started a movement to get the audience close to hip Hop (Mugovera we hiphop) through weekly live shows in Harare that paved way for some of the underground artists to gain experience on stage performance, radio interviews and airplay.
The platform was also in collaboration with Heart ñ Soul radio station and UpInSmoke Jam Sessions.
