History
In 1989 Supa Signs had its beginnings as a scrap metal business in Fordsburg. On noticing complete traffic signs being bought and sold as scrap, Michael Haramis, founding member, immediately recognised a business opportunity. Knowing a senior member of the traffic department, he convinced him that he would be able clean off the face of the sign and reface it with whatever they required. Th
is proved to be so successful that a tender for refurbished signs was established where Supa Signs won the first awarding of the tender. Starting with four staff members, Supa Signs began. In 1993, with expansion in mind, Amanda Haramis joined the family business on the sales and marketing side and manufacturing of new signs began while continuing with the refurbishing section. The business grew and in 1995 Supa Signs purchased a 1000 square metre factory in Robertsham. In 2001, in line with the changes in South Africa, staffs were trained, developing members who would take up management positions. Having secured our place in the industry by offering a personal relationship, where clients speak to the owner and are guaranteed a quality service where our objective is meeting your needs, Supa Signs continues to attract new business. Today
With a staff compliment of 30, the business is now run by the Haramis and Mathebula families and having achieved a Level 2 BEE Contributor status we are still able to add value as a supplier to your business. We pride ourselves on maintaining a family emphasis in the business with fathers and sons, brothers and cousins all working in the same business. It is that same family pride that we extend to all our customers. As manufacturers and suppliers of road traffic signs and poles, mining signs, safety signs and related products, specialising in Road Maintenance contracts, we would appreciate the opportunity to quote you on any of your signage requirements and make myself available to meet you at your convenience.
