Our partnership with Drovers Vet Hospital was a special one because of our love for animals here at ThinkStory. Every second month, we would write a blog post for their website, helping pet parents give their fur babies the best care possible, and a newsletter that got sent out, keeping them in the loop with all things happening at Drovers.

The newsletter performance exceeded all expectations, achieving open rates of up to 54% - exceptional in any industry, particularly for ongoing educational content. These numbers tell us we had struck the perfect balance between valuable information and engaging delivery.

This is one of the most powerful psychological principles in marketing. And when it comes to marketing your business, you're probably ignoring it.

People naturally prefer things they've seen before. The more familiar something becomes, the more trustworthy it feels, even if we're not consciously aware of it. The power is in showing up consistently so that when your ideal customers need what you offer, you're the first name that comes to mind.

Think about the brands you trust most. Chances are, they're the ones you've encountered repeatedly across different channels. That repetition builds familiarity, and familiarity builds trust. When you put your content and messaging out there consistently, you're creating recognition, comfort, and connection with your audience.

The problem we see often is that many businesses stop too soon. They post a few times, don't see immediate results, and assume it's not working. But building familiarity takes time and repetition. That's what it takes to build a lasting brand. Your audience needs to see your story multiple times before it truly sinks in. Play the long game.

We had the privilege of going behind the scenes at Farmwise Marketing for a Sage Spotlight project, setting foot on the factory floor to get up close and personal with the entire process. At the factory, we got to see how they sort, manufacture and package all types of food and produce for leading retailers like Woolworths, Shoprite and Spar. We now have a newfound appreciation for businesses like these who keep the nation's food supply going strong πŸ«‘πŸšœπŸ§‘πŸŒΎπŸŒΎ

One thing we love about the creative industry is that it spans all the other industries. No two days look the same. One day, we are in the head office of a finance multinational corporation, and the next day, we are standing in a factory that manufactures and supplies fresh produce throughout the province.
