At SB Outdoor, our CSI initiative is about more than visibility — it’s about repurposing our billboards into something that truly changes lives.
Over the past year, we’ve distributed thousands of durable, weather-resistant bags across Gauteng, each one finding its way to someone who genuinely needs it.
These bags have supported:
Noreen in Soweto, who runs three soup kitchens feeding families daily
The One Moment Foundation, working alongside Fingertips of Africa, who together have served over 12 million meals
Multiple communities across Gauteng, including a recent large handout to the homeless, where every blanket was paired with a bag — because warmth without dignity is never enough
Why these bags matter:
Children use them as school bags
Families rely on them for grocery shopping
Students carry laptops and university materials
Elderly community members use them for daily errands
For the homeless, these bags are life-changing — protecting belongings from the elements, keeping everything in one place, and even serving as a pillow at night.
When excess material is available, it’s donated to Alexandra residents, where it’s been used to cover homes and reduce flooding during heavy rains.
This initiative also creates meaningful employment. All the sewing is done by Mam Chido, our full-time employee, who works tirelessly turning repurposed billboard material into bags and essential items that serve communities every day.
None of this would be possible without the continued support of our valued clients. It is your campaigns, partnerships, and trust in SB Outdoor that make this meaningful solution possible — allowing billboard material to live on long after a campaign ends and continue making a difference.
This initiative doesn’t just reduce waste.
It restores dignity, offers protection, and creates jobs.
