There’s a lot of conversation around AI tools lately, especially platforms like Anthropic and others in the space.

And while I think they’re incredibly powerful, I’ve also learned something the hard way.

AI doesn’t replace real-world skills.

If anything, it exposes when you don’t have them.

On a recent project, I leaned too heavily on AI to shortcut parts of the UI/UX process. What should have been properly thought through, tested, and designed manually ended up being rushed.
And it showed.

Not because the output was “bad”
But because it lacked the depth that comes from real design thinking
User flow, edge cases, intention behind decisions
That’s the part AI can’t fully replace.

Tools like this are great for speed, ideas, even ex*****on support
But they don’t replace experience, judgment, or process
And when you skip that process, you feel it quickly in real-world work

I think the risk isn’t AI itself
It’s how we choose to use it
If it becomes a shortcut instead of a support tool, it can actually hold you

back rather than move you forward
For me, it’s been a reset in how I approach projects again
Back to fundamentals first, then AI second
