On this day in 1976, a series of protests took place which were led by black youth against the introduction of Afrikaans as a medium of instruction. Those youth were met with extreme police brutality and many were killed during the mass protests.

We remember our fallen youth as we continue the fight for free and just education for all. Not for some but for all.
