A nice branding project for Judie van Staden at Van Staden Attorneys Inc.

This project was about finding the balance between elegance and professionalism whilst creating something that is both unique and just a little quirky.

The colour palette consists of blue, white and gold-ish hues symbolising trust and excellence. The logo itself combines sans serif typography and a logo mark - a little play on "crossing the t's and dotting the i's", something that is very important in the world of law.

Designing for yourself is a whole different struggle. 🎨💭

As graphic designers, we pour our creativity into crafting brands that capture the essence of someone else’s vision. But when it comes to our own? That’s where the real challenge begins.

We know we can create something amazing, so the pressure is on. The first concept feels too simple. The second, too complex. The third? Maybe we’re overthinking it. And before we know it, we’re stuck in an endless loop of iterations, questioning every pixel.

Revamping a personal brand every few years becomes a ritual—a mix of creative excitement and existential crisis. Do we go bold? Minimalist? Trendy? Timeless? The irony is, while we preach consistency to our clients, our own brand evolves as much as we do.

So here I am, once again, in the trenches of redesigning my own brand. Will this be the version that sticks? Maybe. Maybe not. But one thing’s for sure—this journey keeps pushing me to refine my craft.
