Acting skills is a necessary factor when it comes to satisfactory customer service.

Sometimes you’re going to come across people that you’ll never be able to make happy.

Situations outside of your control (they had a terrible day, or they are just a natural-born complainer) will sometimes creep into your usual support routine, and you’ll be greeted with those “barnacle” customers that seem to want nothing else but to pull you down.

Every great customer service representative will have those basic acting skills necessary to maintain their usual cheery persona in spite of dealing with people who may be just plain grumpy.

Too many managers and owners of businesses tend to ignore the fact that businesses exist because of customers, that the customer is the blood line of the business and should be treated with love and care.
Yes, you might have a hotline that is ready to receive the complaints from customers but that is not enough.
One will see businesses with slogans CUSTOMERS COME FIRST, is it true especially in Africa? That slogan will be put to test.
Most at times when customers see such slogans, they tend to believe that it is true, but you must prove so.
For that, if a customer comes in person, you must show hospitality, explain how a given product function and even show how happy you are to have them bought the product.

Practice empathy.

The world is increasingly becoming impersonal where people no longer have a sense of sympathy for one another.

Empathy has become a competitive advantage for anyone and company that can attach the human factor to its service experiences.

Any company that has the culture of apathy is likely to struggle acquiring new customers and maintaining the existing ones.

Customer Service agents must master the lost art of EMPATHY in order to deliver effective customer service.
They should practice the art of putting themselves in to the shoes of the customers they serve.
