We’re testing a new way to start conversations with businesses that might need automation — and it’s working surprisingly well.
Most agencies buy lead lists. We’re doing something different.
We look at publicly available business directories — the kind where owners already list their contact details hoping to be found.
Instead of sending a generic sales pitch, we open with a question based on the same conversation framework we use at Ayeye:
“What’s the one task your team does every day that feels like there has to be a better way?”
Why?
Because the person who feels that pain is rarely the decision-maker. They’re the admin, the receptionist, the junior manager — the one doing repetitive manual work every day. Treat them like an obstacle, and you’ll get blocked.
Treat them like an intelligence source, and they’ll often pass your message upstairs.
We’re not selling automation. We’re asking questions that surface real use cases first.
The early responses are showing that when you respect the gatekeeper, you get through to the right person much faster.
Happy to share more about the thinking behind this — anyone else experimenting with smarter outreach instead of volume?
