We must acknowledge that our perception is very deceiving when taking in information. Everything thing that we either watch, read or hear, we are reading watching and listening already with a bias towards something. We are never always 💯 percent objective. Hence it is always a good exercise to check if we are basing our thoughts on the sincerity of the information or our confirmation biases. And more so, are we aware of what biases we have that are subliminally directing our perceptions? This is part of self awareness.

You know I often hear people complaining about how evil the world/society has become or is, and my thoughts are these:

There only evil is because of the people inhabiting the world. People spend more time being evil to themselves and each other and yet want to complain about the evil. The source of evil is the very source of goodness. Its US. We Are The World/Society. So to help in remembering this truth, I want to share today's Sunday Story with you. You've probably heard it before, but its always good to revisited forgotten wisdom we've picked up on our journey. Enjoy :)

~¤~|ONE AT A TIME|~¤~

A friend of mine was walking down a deserted Mexican beach at sunset. As he was walked along, he began to see another man in the distance. As he grew closer, he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up and throwing it in the water. Time and time again he kept hurling things into the ocean.

As my friend approached even closer, he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach and, one at a time, was throwing them back in the water.

My friend was puzzled. He appraoched the man and said, "Good evening friend. I was wondering what you were doing."

"I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it is low tide right now and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I don't throw them back into the sea, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen."

"I understand," my friend replied, "but there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You can't possibly get to all of them. There are simply too many. And don't you realise that this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down the coast. Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?"

The local natice smiled, bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and as he threw it back into the sea, he replied, "Made a difference to that one!"

~Make a Positive difference. :)

=¤=BAMBOO=¤=

Once upon a time in the heart of the western kingdom, lay a beautiful garden. And there in the cool of the day was the master of the garden who went for a walk. Of all the dwellers of the garden, the most beautiful and beloved was a gracious and noble Bamboo. Year after year, Bamboo grew yet more beautiful and gracious. He was conscious of his manster's love and watchful delight, yet he was modest and in all things gentle.

Often when the Wind came to revel in the garden, Bamboo would throw aside his dignity. He would dance and sway merrily, tossing and leaping and bowing in joyous abandon. He would lead the great dance of the garden which most delighted his master's heart. One day, the master himself drew near to look at his Bamboo with eyes of curious expectancy. And Bamboo, in a passion of love, bowed his great head to the ground in joyful greeting. The master spoke, "Bamboo, I will use you."

Bamboo flung his head to the sky in utter delight. The day of days had been growing hour by hour, the day in which he would find his completion and destiny!

His voice came low, "Master, I am ready, use me as you want."

"Bamboo," the master's voice was grave, "I would be obliged to take you and cut you down."

A trembling of great horror shook Bamboo, "Cut...me...down? Me, whom you Master, have made the most beautiful in all of you garden? To cut me down? Ah! Not that, not that. Use me for your joy, oh master, but cut me not down."

"Beloved Bamboo," the master's voice grew grave still, "if I do not cut you, then I cannot use you."

The garden grew still. Wind held her breath. Bambo slowly bent his proud and glorious head. There came a whisper. "Master, if you cannot use me unless you cut me down, then do your will and cut."

"Bamboo, beloved Bamboo, I would cut your leaves, and branches from you also." "Master, master spare me. Cut me down and lay my beauty in the dust, but would you take from me my leaves and branches also?"

"Bamboo alas! If I do not cut them away, I cannot use you."

The sun hid her face. A listening butterfly glided fearfully away. Bamboo shivered In terrible expectancy, whispering low. "Master, cut away."

"Bamboo, Bamboo, I would divide you in two and cut out your heart, for if I do not cut so, I cannot use you."
"Master, master, then cut and divide."

So the master of the garden took Bamboo and cut him down and hacked off his branches and stripped off his leaves and divided him in two and cut out his heart, and lifting him gently, carried him to where there was a spring of fresh water, sparkling water in the midst of the master's dry field. Then putting down one end of broken Bamboo into the spring and the other into the channel of his field, the master laid down gently his beloved Bamboo.

The spring sang welcome. The clear sparkling water raced joyously down the channel of Bamboo's torn body into the waiting fields. Then the rice was planted and the days went by. The shoots grew. The harvest came. In that day was Bamboo, once so glorious in his stately beauty, yet more glorious in his brokenness and humility. For in his body he was life abundant. But in his brokenness he became a channel for abundant life to his master's world.

This story is to help remind you and bring you wisdom that Life/God will use you to bless others with abundant life, and at times it won't be as you may expect it, not in your perfectness, but through your imperfections will S/he use you to bring refreshing spring waters into the lives that have been dried up by loss of hope, faith, love and appreciation.. We are all the channels of Abundant Life if we only just allow ourselves to be Guided by Spirit. For we are the fountain of Never ending Goodness, and Life will seek to show us that always - all ways.

I would that you use your Christianity to bring joy to the world not discrimination.
I would that you use your Islam to bring love to the world not ashes.
I would that you use your atheism to bring peace to the world not ridicule.
I would that you use whatever belief you hold to be a vessel of Love, Joy, Truth, of strength and understanding, of The Brotherhood Of Man. I would you be a Love Vessel. Love is One Universal language that all can understand. Whether black or indian or white. Whether gay or le***an or straight. Whether Muslim or Christian or Free Thinker. Whether male or female. Blind or with sight. Deaf or can hear. We all love in One Language because we are all made of the same Source.

“I am the captain of my soul I am the Master of my fate.” Those words you say to the world, the outside world; the world of the ego. As it tries to force its will upon you. Whereas in spirit, the inner world, you suppress your ego your words to the outside world, and yield to listen to the wings of your spirit. You lean to hear what does Spirit say about you. And when you come out of that inner space, you clothe those words, your words “I am captain of my soul I am the master of my fate,” with that which your Spirit has said about you. This is called authentic power. We are tasked with being in submission to our Spiritual Selves Soul desire. Even amidst our own egotistic existence.

When we say your “Ego” we are not talking about pride. “Ego”, in the existential context, is not about pride, pride is just a characteristic of the ego, but so is fear, guilt, shame, doubt, resentment, even conditional love. Ego is what spiritualist call your shadow self, your false self. Ego is the assumed identity of who you think you are from not knowing Who You Really Are. So it’s not pride. Ego is any ideology that you have grown accustomed to and associate your existence and importance with. So when you suppress your ego, you are suppressing any idea that you think is who you are and any ideology that you have clung your Self Awareness to, and yield to the real identity.
