I keep promising myself that I'll post more reading and writing related content, but guys, it's hard. 90% of my day is Anna. These days, the closest I get to reading, is when I read for Anna (or try to teach her not to go destruction mode when reading).

So, here are some photos from her doop - which we almost forget about and then quickly had to organise. Why? Because time is lie and loop and irrelevant. Just yesterday she was still the squishy, tiny and slightly odd looking newborn I know - how is she running around and eating steak already?

1. Just us (in her second outfit - yes, I'm that extra).
2. Keeping Anna from eating the flowers.
3. There must always be bubbles!
4. .jam bringing our guests to tears.
5. You won't be able to 9gag now, Pappa!

Next time I'll try to add something about reading (but I lost my book. So, maybe writing?)

Perhaps it's that second glass of Shiraz, but I'm desperately missing my pet babies today. Yes, I call them babies, because they are super needy and like to follow me to the loo. Basically, babies.

Our town has been struck with devastating floods again this year. Luckily, I was visiting my parents while it all went down. So, Anna and I are relatively dry and mostly warm (though not without a few bumps and fallen trees). Problem is, we have no access to get back home. At home, bridges on both sides are currently closed. One is flooded and the other one is sinking in. My in-laws are all stuck between the two "non-bridges" and I'm on the outside. They can't get out and I can't get in. Though, not ideal for them, I am grateful that there are people who are staying in our house and checking up on our pets.

I'm being sappy, but with all the trees flying about, people losing their roofing, bridges crumbling, homes flooding and alpacas stranded on an island - I'm allowed to be sappy. So, give your pet an extra cuddle today on my behalf.

Also, check in on your community - A hamper, dry bedding, or just a lekker beanie or cup of coffee could mean the world to someone. 🐶🐈‍⬛
