"Make it simple, but significant." -- Don Draper, fictional character on Mad Men

We had the pleasure to design a logo for our friends at Blake Wood. We aimed to keep it simple but make it significant as well.

We wanted to create a simple yet beautiful logo that clearly defines the business’s product offerings. We started off by playing with the words Blake and Wood, trying various fonts and combinations and ultimately decided to focus on the letters B and W to create a logo icon. If you look closely you will notice that the icon is made up of the letters B and W. The typeface is a clear type with strong right angles that eludes to the clean cut lines and sturdiness of the products sold by Blake Wood. The addition of the botanical element growing out of the “BW” and creating the visual separation between the B and W symbolises the wood used in the making of the products.

In addition it was important to create a logo where the individual elements such as the icon and name could be used independantly and together, and that in either of these states it not feel like something is lacking.
We chose a colour palette that mimics the natural colours of the resources used to create the products.

With over 7 years of industry experience ranging from photography to animation and VFX. She is passionate about all things creative and travel. The best way to describe her way of design is methodical chaos. Michelle is in her element behind the camera and on set art directing the perfect shot.

Meet Ruan, one of our fun and at times quirky co-owners.

With over 7 years of industry experience ranging from film to UI/UX. He is a jack of all trades with a love for any and everything creative. The best way to describe his way of design is "Steve Jobs meets Flash Gordan and goes for an epic adventure". Put Ruan in front of his Macbook and tell him to design an app or website and he is his happy place.

We were approached by our client to refresh their brand. We started with designing a new website. Our aim was to create a website that would encourage customer engagement with the use of video, infographics and photos while maintaining a clean and clear design.
