At Allycats PR, a love of words and how they knit together to create a vibrant picture is the driving force behind everything that we, as trained and experienced writers and editors do. Allycats has also launched its own, membership-based, online news platform – Marketing Spread – to spread the news! The co-owners of Allycats PR, Cathy Grosvenor and Allison Cooper, have over 40 years’ combined experience in content creation, journalism, publicity generation, writing, editing, proofreading, social media and public relations! Our clients receive a personal, hands-on service. We are not your average, large PR agency, we are a dynamic two-woman team that specialises in what we do and gives you what you need to meet your objectives. It’s really simple. You deal with one boss or the other. There’s no coming and going of account execs. It’s just us, so what you see is what you get. We spend the time we need getting to know who you are and what you need. We know exactly how to tell your story, to the right media and the right people, in a way that engages your target audience. We are the masters of the written word!

𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀!

Graskop Gorge Lift Co has been awarded 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 (𝗪𝗧𝗠) 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲!

The awards were announced today (April 14) at WTM Africa 2026, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, recognising organisations across Africa that are making a meaningful impact through responsible tourism.

This recognition celebrates our ongoing commitment to protecting the natural environment while creating meaningful, accessible experiences for visitors. From our viewing lift to our elevated forest boardwalks, every element of the Gorge has been designed to provide zero-impact access to this incredible ecosystem.

We’re especially proud of our role in conserving rare and endangered species – including the critically endangered Graskop cliff aloe (Aloe nubigena) – and in helping restore and protect the gorge from previous environmental degradation.

The judges' citation includes the following: “Before intervention, the gorge was a ‘tragedy of the commons’, vulnerable to illegal plant harvesting, wood collection and opportunistic poaching. Informal scramble paths caused soil erosion, siltation of the gorge stream and destruction of delicate understory micro-habitat boundaries.”

Beyond conservation, this award also recognises our commitment to community upliftment, with the majority of our team and suppliers coming from the local Graskop area.

Thank you to our passionate team, partners and every visitor who supports responsible tourism. Together, we’re proving that tourism can be a force for good.
