"My mum’s 15 timeless advices guide me daily, shaping my strength, kindness, and courage with love. Forever grateful, I live by her words — celebrating women through wisdom that lights every path. ✨
• It's nice to be pretty, but it's even prettier to be nice.
• When you were born, you cried and everyone around you smiled. Live your life so that when you die, you smile and everyone around you cries.
• You get used to anything after a while, even hanging.
• Sticks and stones may break my bones...
• March confidently to the beat of your own drummer.
• It's not just OK to be different - it's preferable.
• When you give from your pocket, you give very little indeed. When you give from your time, you give very much.
• Onions are good in (almost) everything.
• Cooking is both among the most practical and most cathartic things a person can do, especially when it's for someone you love
• Respect your elders.
• Express yourself, disregard anyone who doesn't like it.
• Treat women with respect, no matter what.
• Pursue knowledge and learning every single day of your life.
• Give your best effort - anything worth doing is worth doing well.
If you borrow a cup of sugar, return two.” My mom taught me to live my life that way, mostly by example rather than words.
I can hear her say: “If you borrow someone’s car, return it with more gas in it than you got it, for Gods sake!”
So she was the type of lady, always a lady, who would plant a beautiful flower garden in a home that we were merely renting, and leave it in better shape than when we arrived. She always made each place she ever lived in more beautiful for her having been there.
When I strive to be like her, as I do, it is that I wish to bring natural beauty, or some other consideration, everywhere I go, too — in big or little ways. To create a home, arrange a room, or present a dish of food with careful attention to the details. It doesn’t take much more time, or money, just more care.
When you start thinking about little things you can do to make things better, it becomes a habit. And life gets more fun every day — especially if you do it without regard for anyone else noticing. That’s when stress comes in, and we don’t need more of that! Do it from love, not obligation.
Sometimes it is better to NOT try to change anything, and just appreciate the good others do and the beauty they bring to our planet.
As I’ve grown older I have chosen to live the rest of my life closer to nature, away from people, and allow myself to play everyday as I slowly improve my little part of the planet. So I wake up ready for action. It seems now that the Universe is repaying me twice over for every good deed I’ve ever done, and every good thought I’ve ever had."
