We’re starting something special in Paarl this Christmas, and we’d love your help.
During October and November, Paarl Plak will be collecting toys and children’s books to pass on to a local organisation supporting children in need.
If you’ve been meaning to sort through your children’s toys and books, this could be a lovely reason to do it together. Sometimes making a little space at home means passing on something another child will treasure.
We welcome new toys and books, as well as gently played-with toys and pre-loved books. Please make sure donations are clean, complete and in good condition.
You can bring your donations directly to us at 23 Oranje Street, Paarl, where we’ll sort everything. You’re also welcome to courier donations to the same address—please message us to arrange the delivery details.
As a thank you, we’ll give you a Paarl Plak voucher for every bag or box you donate, to put towards something of your choice at Paarl Plak.
Along with the toys and books, Paarl Plak will donate a R5,000 branding voucher to the organisation we support. We want to help them become more visible, tell people about their work and reach others who may be able to help. We’re still choosing a local organisation and will share who it is once confirmed.
We’re also hoping to light up the house at 23 Oranje Street with Christmas lights and decorations during December, so families can come and enjoy the lights for free.
If you have Christmas lights or decorations you’re no longer using, we’d be grateful for donations. If you’d prefer to lend them to us for December, we’d love that too. Please get in touch so we can arrange it with you.
We can provide the space, do the sorting and contribute through our business, but we can’t do this without our community’s help.
Whether you donate a book, pack a bag of toys, lend us some lights or simply share this post, you’ll be helping us make it happen.
Thank you,
The Paarl Plak Team
