IDENTITY OF MAN ALLEGEDLY STABBED TO DEATH DURING ONE-NIGHT STAND WITH S*X WORKER RELEASED

MPHEGO — The identity of a man who was allegedly stabbed to death during a reported one-night stand with a s*x worker at Mphego outside Thohoyandou has been released.

The deceased has been identified as Fhulufhelo Gingi, who was allegedly stabbed during the early hours of Thursday following an altercation with a woman who has confessed to being a s*x worker.

According to preliminary information, the dispute allegedly involved payment. It is alleged that Gingi had paid R800, but an argument broke out after the woman allegedly requested additional money beyond the agreed amount.

The disagreement allegedly escalated, resulting in Gingi being fatally stabbed.

In a video recorded before police arrived and the body was removed from the scene, the woman admitted that she stabbed the man on the head, claiming it was in retaliation. She said she did not realise the injury was severe enough to cause his death.

The suspect, who is reportedly originally from Makonde Village outside Thohoyandou, is known in the area as a s*x worker.

Police have opened an investigation and are expected to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

TWO MALAWIAN NATIONALS ARRESTED WITH STOLEN NISSAN NAVARA WORTH R900 000 ON N1 POLOKWANE

POLOKWANE-Two Malawian nationals have been arrested after they were found in possession of a stolen Nissan Navara ProMax valued at approximately R900 000.

The arrests followed intelligence received by police regarding a vehicle that was stolen in Springs, Gauteng, on Saturday, 1 August 2026. The vehicle was allegedly being transported towards the Beitbridge Port of Entry for smuggling out of South Africa.

Police members conducted an observation operation along the N1 South within the Westernburg policing precinct, where the vehicle was spotted travelling at high speed.

The driver allegedly ignored police instructions to stop, resulting in a high-speed chase. The vehicle was eventually brought to a stop and preliminary investigations confirmed that it had been reported stolen.

Two Malawian nationals, aged 36 and 40, were arrested in connection with the possession of the stolen vehicle.

The recovered Nissan Navara ProMax is estimated to be worth around R900 000.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 4 August 2026.

15-Year-Old Girl Arrested After Grandmother and Child Killed

A 15-year-old girl named Shamia was reportedly in a relationship with a 16-year-old boy. It is alleged that the girl’s family did not approve of the relationship, and the two teenagers allegedly decided to kill her family because they believed they were standing in the way of their relationship.

The boy allegedly attacked the family, killing Shamia’s 56-year-old grandmother and her 10-year-old sibling. Shamia’s aunt was also reportedly stabbed, but survived by pretending to be dead. The suspects allegedly set the house on fire before leaving while pretending to seek help.

The aunt later managed to escape and hide before giving a statement to police, which reportedly helped investigators piece together what had happened.

It is further alleged that the 16-year-old boy later died, while Shamia was arrested and is facing charges in connection with the incident.
