WHAT IS ART? Bucchianeri said that “art is in the eye of the beholder, and everyone will have their own interpretation.” To Rustic Nova, art can be a traditional painting, a piece of fictional writing, a beautiful song, or a well-designed advert … but we also believe that art can be found in a beautiful sunset, the sound of waves rolling onto a beach, a sunny bouquet of sunflowers or the silence found on a Karoo farm.

In today’s we appreciate the importance of art. Art not only transcends the borders of culture, but also has tangible and intangible benefits. For the Rustic Nova family, one of the most important benefits of art is that it allows healthy and thoughtful cultural discussions. Without discussion we as global citizens cannot understand different perspectives and ultimately grow as human beings.

The age old saying goes: ‘a good reputation is more valuable than money’. The same applies to a company’s brand. Today’s will focus on the building of a personal brand.

A personal brand should not be confused with personal branding (activities you engage in to build a personal brand). At Rustic Nova we equate a personal brand with perception and the reputation of someone. It is the impression of a person based on their actions, experience, expertise and competencies within a community or industry. On social media (and in everyday life) your personal brand is evident in what you do, who you surround yourself with and how you carry yourself. It is an abstract element that all of us must be aware of and treasure; because unfortunately in modern times a personal brand revolves around what other people say about you… while personal branding is what you say about yourself.

This is why it is so important for young entrepreneurs; small, medium and large business people; and all employees really to manage their own personal brand. How? By making good choices and building an authentic brand online, but also in your day-to-day life.

As Gary Vaynerchuk said: “It’s important to build a personal brand, because it is the only thing you are going to have. Your reputation online, and in the new business world is critically important. You can’t hide anything, and more importantly, you’ve got to be out there at some level.”
