📣🚀 Nelson Mandela Bay's rise as a coastal destination gains momentum with the opening of The Capital Boardwalk, our city’s first aparthotel and a new hub for business, leisure and entertainment!

Opened on 17 April, with stays from 1 May, the 145-room property by The Capital Hotels & Apartments marks the brand’s debut in the city. Set within the Boardwalk precinct, it offers direct access to the casino, beachfront and shopping centre.

Blending hotel convenience with apartment-style living, the development caters to business travellers, expats and long-stay guests with fully serviced units that include kitchens, laundry facilities and flexible housekeeping.

Guests can move easily between work and leisure, with co-working spaces, conference facilities, a gym, restaurant and bar, plus access to shops, cinemas, restaurants and the beachfront.

Accommodation ranges from standard rooms to luxury penthouses. Social spaces, including a pool deck and garden, will host regular events, positioning the hotel as a lively meeting point for locals and visitors.

Beyond hospitality, the project supports local growth, creating over 500 jobs during construction and up to 200 permanent roles.

With its prime location and flexible offering, The Capital Boardwalk sets a new standard for how travellers stay, work and connect in Gqeberha.

📣🚀 Boardwalk Welcomes Back a Familiar Face!

Boardwalk Hotel and Casino has appointed Sisulu Madondo as its new General Manager, taking over from Tati Tsunke.

He brings more than 26 years of experience in gaming and hospitality, having worked across a range of leading properties including Frontier Inn, Mmabatho Palms, Meropa Casino and Sibaya Casino.

His return to Boardwalk is something of a homecoming. He was part of the team that launched the casino in 2000 and spent 10 years living in Gqeberha.

With experience on both the gaming and hospitality sides, his focus is on strengthening the overall guest experience and building closer connections with customers.

It was an honour to meet him and introduce ourselves!

When we arrived, we were treated to lunch, followed by a few rounds in the casino against colleagues, and the winning team got to choose a charity of their choice, to which the Boardwalk donated R5 000.

We were then invited to stay over in the five-star hotel and enjoyed an amazing breakfast this morning.

As Yo! Media, we would like to welcome Sisulu back to Nelson Mandela Bay, and thank The Boardwalk for hosting us.
