One of my favourite skills in my toolkit as an equine professional, and one of the very first things we teach our students, is mapping the horse. This is much more than a technical skill; it’s a way to help owners connect the dots between anatomy, movement, behaviour, and the saddle.

Taking clients step by step through the mapping process lets them to see where saddle fit issues might be present on their horse and understand how they’re affecting the horse's behaviour, movement and performance.

As an equine professional, learning this skill allows you to quickly identify potential saddle fit issues and incorporate a new, science-based tool into your work with clients, without needing to become a certified saddle fitter.
