Never underestimate the value of a prop.

During the production of the John Deere ISG Flagship, we aimed to create a compelling storyline that spanned the lifetime of one farmer. This scene with the TV box was an integral part of linking the scene to a specific era.

To create a vintage atmosphere we had a trick up our sleeve involving a TV box, lighting, and some movie magic. The TV (although not in working condition) was from this specific period, and with the help of a flickering Peta Pixel, we could successfully create the illusion of a working vintage television set. The last piece of the puzzle was to edit historic tractor footage onto the TV in post-production.

Being resourceful with props can save you a lot of costs and efforts, and of course help to really set the scene.

Production is no walk in the park.

As exciting as the Sony A7IV launch was, shooting at five different locations with seven different collaborators proved to be a daunting task. Working with this many variables required next-level planning and pre-production. If you're interested in learning how we made this happen, watch the video below.

: Era-specific wardrobe can be quite a challenge to source, especially when you're not close to any prop-houses. That's why it's important to never forget about your local thrift store.

Today's is dedicated to the Helpende Hand store in the heart of Potchefstroom. Helpende Hand has been a saving grace when we need wardrobe and props on a whim. In the John Deere ISG video, we were able to source the vintage dress shirt and trousers our actor is wearing below.

This personal touch contributed to the 1800s setting and made the scene all that more authentic.

If you're looking for unique secondhand pieces we cannot recommend Helpende Hand enough!

Another exciting Sony project done and dusted.

A few weeks ago Sony MEA challenged us to create a video using the new 24-70mm f2.8 GM II lens.

One of the most impressive features of this lens is its compact and lightweight build, allowing you to shoot with freedom and flexibility.

No matter the location this lens will have your back!
