📍A DECOMPOSED BODY SUSPECTED TO BE OF A STUDENT FOUND IN A CAMPUS RESIDENCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO 📍

MANKWENG – The University of Limpopo community has been left in shock following the discovery of a student’s body at the Gate 1 residence on campus.

The tragic incident unfolded when the student was found deceased in his room, with his body in an advanced state of decomposition, suggesting he may have passed away days before the discovery.

Campus security made the grim discovery after fellow students reported a foul smell emanating from the room. Upon investigation, they found the student’s lifeless body, triggering an immediate response from the university and local authorities.

The identity of the student has not been made public, pending notification of the family. Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of death, though no foul play is suspected at this stage.

The university community is deeply saddened by the incident, which has raised concerns about the well-being of students, especially in residences.

The university has not issued any statement at this stage. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available

BREAKING NEWS | FEMALE POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY MURDERING SIX PEOPLE FOR INSURANCE PAYOUTS IN BOCHUM
The 43-year-old officer, whose identity has been withheld pending further investigation, is accused of preying on vulnerable members of her community, including individuals who were mentally challenged or disabled.

According to authorities, the officer took out fraudulent insurance policies on these destitute individuals without their knowledge and later orchestrated their murders to cash in on life and funeral policy claims.

Great work has been done by both SAFA & PSL in making VAR a possibility. We spoke to both Dr Danny Jordaan & Dr Khoza,I went through the presentation & finance required, i was also contacted by the team that brought VAR to the English Premier league. We will soon report in detail.

A multi-disciplinary operation called "Siyaqoqa" brought relevant stakeholders and communities together in a cross-border operation last week on the Lesotho and Free State border.

During the five-day operation, 72 suspects were arrested on charges such as possession of suspected stolen goods, driving while under the influence, possession of a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a firearm and contravention of the Immigration Act.

The operation put more emphasis on illegal border crossings and members confiscated man-made bridges and rafts while going through the Caledon River and its banks at various places. People who crossed the border illegally were also arrested. Hundreds of sandbags were destroyed and wooden logs were dismantled.

Vehicle investigators went to Mafeteng in Lesotho where they found a Ford Ranger that was stolen in March 2021 in Berea (GP), a Fortuner that was stolen in Krugersdorp in May 2024, a BMW that was stolen in Midrand in January 2017 and a Toyota Quantum of which the VIN and engine numbers were tampered with and stolen in Soshanguve in May 2021.

In Botshabelo stray cattle were found and checked. Further investigation revealed that the livestock were stolen in Dewetsdorp in August 2024. Police confiscated five cattle. In Dewetsdorp members followed up on information which resulted in the arrest of a male and the subsequent recovery of nine stolen sheep.

Police actions such as roadblocks, vehicle checkpoints, stops-and-searches as well as compliance visits at second-hand goods dealers, were conducted. Some non-complying shop owners were issued with fines and others were arrested after illegal items were discovered.

The operation, which is crime intelligence-led, is concluded however, these operations will continue on a regular basis in order to combat cross-border crimes. The operation was conducted at towns on the border of Lesotho and all relevant stakeholders were summoned to take part.

ROAD TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT CORPORATION MAKES A BREAKTHROUGH ON N1 HIGHWAY TRAFFIC CORRUPTION


BREAKING NEWS: The Road Traffic Management Anti-Corruption Unit (NTACU) together with South African Police Services have arrested eleven (11) traffic officers in Polokwane today, on allegations that they have been taking bribes from bus operators, taxi drivers and motorists travelling on the N1 highway between Polokwane and Musina.

The officials have been under investigation since March 2022 as part of an undercover operation called “coconut” which was targeting law enforcement officials involved in unethical and unlawful conduct which lead to high crashes on the N1.

An investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Unit (NTACU) of the RTMC has so far revealed that Traffic officials operating along the N1 freeway and those inside towns and villages abandon their duties and drive to the N1 to carry out corrupt activities.

It is alleged that the officers stopped motorist and conducted inspections, but they would demand bribes instead of issuing a traffic fine when they found faults with the vehicles or driving licences.

An undercover operation to prevent, detect or investigate the commission of an offence was conducted after an entrapment permission was obtained from the Director of Public Prosecution.

The suspects were identified after a lengthy investigation involving the South African Police Service from Limpopo provincial detectives. The suspects are expected to appear in the Polokwane magistrate soon to face charges relating to defeating the ends of justice, extortion, and solicitation of bribes from motorists, bus driver operators, Malaishas travelling from other provinces through Limpopo province to Zimbabwe along N1 and alternative routes.

The arrest of more officials has not been ruled out at this stage as investigations are continuing.
