Are you a mid-weight freelance designer with some time on your hands? Stop rewatching The Office or spiralling into existential dread over every new AI update and come work for us for 3 months. ETIKET is an award-winning agency blessed and highly favoured with an overflow of work that we’d like you to help us with.

What we need you to do:
• Be responsible for conceptualising and developing campaigns (this is not just an implementation position, you’ll need to be the boer that makes the planne sometimes as well).
• Lead designs across various media, including emails, paid and organic social, web, and print.
• Proactively monitor artwork quality, accuracy, and consistency at all stages.
• Be lekker. We are lekker people.

You will work directly under the Creative Director. Her Yorkie’s name is Charlie and she only eats the fancy treats from Woolies. (You end up in trouble, you know what to do…)

Your experience would ideally include:
• A design degree or equivalent with 2-4 years+ experience in a creative environment.
• Experience with a digital-first brand (preferable).
• Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent typography, design, and layout skills.
• Knowledge of online/digital media processes.
• Experience in motion graphics, animated digital ads, and social media.
• Skills in WordPress and animation are a plus.

• You’re able to follow and deliver on a brief but you bring a little something of your own creativity to the process.
• You have a creative mindset with strong idea generation and visualisation skills.
• You’re a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
• You’re flexible, organised, and good with time management.
• You will never use SmartArt or Comic Sans unless you are being kept hostage, and need to send us a secret message.

Important admin stuff:
• We will need you to be available 8 hours per day, from 8am – 5pm.
• The position is remote, but you may need to be on site for brainstorms and/or client meetings and such, so we will need our person to be Gauteng based. Fancy treats (for both you and Charlie) will sweeten the deal.

We often have to caution creatives and clients when we work on a challenge: don't go into ideation immediately. As humans we don't like the ambiguity and uncertainty of the problem, yet it is important to live with and experience the challenge you are trying to solve.

Acknowledge ideas that may pop up in the early phases of the creative process by writing them down, and then refocus on understanding the challenge. Before we solve, we first need to fully understand what we it is that we actually have to solve.

In a survey by the WEF, 9 out of 10 business leaders emphasised the importance of creativity in maintaining competitiveness in today's market. Yet, 3/4 of people reckon they underutilise their creative capabilities and believe that they are not fully realizing their creative potential.

We can’t only acknowledge the importance of creativity, we have to action it in our businesses!
