The team came across this online by Dr. Christian Poensgen and co-author Eric Partaker and could not agree more. Although used in the context of leadership, the narrative is the same for businesses and brands. We as people, brands and companies should all think more like farmers.

1) Don’t shout at the crops
As a leader: Understand & guide without pressure
As a brand: Don’t dictate to your audience; understand your audience's needs and adapt to show understanding.

2) Don’t blame the crops
As a leader: Acknowledge effort & support growth
As a brand: Don’t blame failure on your audience, review the causes and come up with solutions to solve the problem.

3) Don’t uproot the crops
As a leader: Be patient with progress & give time to excel
As a brand: Be patient and consistent with your marketing and branding. Don’t change course 1-month in and swap and change strategies and approaches without allowing for enough time to excel.

4) Choose the best plants for the soil
As a leader: Match people with problems & embrace diversity
