Heavy rain all week.

For most cleaning businesses that means cancellations, reschedules, and a dead phone.

My client texted me this Tuesday after our Google Ads campaign kept bringing in work anyway.

2 jobs today.
2 tomorrow.

And one of those jobs was worth R2400.

This is why relying only on referrals is risky.

Your pipeline should still work when conditions aren’t perfect.

That’s what we’re building. 📈

Winter is coming in South Africa and most cleaning businesses are already feeling it. Phones getting quieter. Weeks getting thinner. That slow season dread setting in.

My client is having his busiest streak in a while.

Week 1: 2 booked jobs.
Week 2: 3 booked jobs.
Week 3: 6 booked jobs, one cancelled last minute, still walked away with 5.

During what should be his slow season where previously it was 1 or 0 booked jobs per week.

What I built is a Google Ads system that finds the people already searching for a cleaning service right now, today, and puts him in front of them before anyone else gets the chance. No guessing. No hoping. Just consistent booked jobs landing while the rest of his industry sits on their hands waiting for spring.

The ads are still new and the numbers are already climbing week on week. That's what a properly built system does. It doesn't wait for the right season. It works in any season.

His calendar is filling up while others in his space are watching theirs empty out.

If you run a local service business and you want that same consistency, send me a message and let's see what's possible. 👇

Quick update from a campaign running this week:

5 jobs booked so far.
Average job value: ±R850.

That’s ±R4250 in work generated.

No complicated setup.
Just showing up when people are searching for the service.

This is what high-intent traffic looks like.

The truth about why bigger budgets are better for Google Ads.

Not just for more leads. For testing.

More budget = more data

More data = better decisions

That’s how you find what actually works.

This mistake can cost you thousands every month.

You can run good Google Ads…

But if your website looks like this, you lose the customer.

❌️No call button
❌️No phone number
❌️No clear offer

So people click… and leave.

And that’s money wasted.

Google Ads brings people who are ready.

Your page needs to tell them what to do next.

One thing I’ve seen this week.

A lot of service businesses run Facebook ads…

But get the wrong enquiries.

People asking random questions or just looking for prices.

That’s because Facebook interrupts people.

Google Ads works differently.

It shows when someone searches for the service.
That’s why the leads are usually more serious.

Fridays are usually where I review how campaigns performed during the week.

Looking at:
How many people clicked
How many actually called
How many turned into bookings

Because that’s what really matters.

Not just traffic…
But whether it’s turning into real jobs.

Most service businesses don’t have an issue getting clicks.

The issue is:
Clicks that don’t turn into customers.

That’s usually what I’m looking at and adjusting.

I was looking at a cleaning business’s Google Ads account recently.

Everything was in one campaign.
Carpet cleaning.
Couch cleaning.
Mattress cleaning.

All together.

At first glance, it looked fine.

Ads were running.

Clicks were coming in.

But the results weren’t great.
Leads were inconsistent.
A lot of price shoppers.
Not many actual bookings.

The issue wasn’t the ads.

It was how everything was grouped together.

Once we split things out properly and aligned it with how people actually search…

Things started improving.
Better calls.
More relevant enquiries.
More bookings 📞

Most of the time, the problem isn’t that ads don’t work.

It’s that they’re set up in a way that doesn’t match how customers search.

Cheap leads are not always good leads.

I’ve seen this a lot with service businesses.

They want cheaper clicks. Lower cost per lead. More volume.

But what actually happens?

You get people asking for prices…
Comparing quotes…
And never booking.

The problem isn’t the number of leads.

It’s the quality of the people clicking.

When someone searches for:
“carpet cleaning near me”

They’re not browsing. They’re ready to book.

That’s the difference.
Not more leads.

Better customers 📞

Some days the phone rings.
Some days… nothing.

Now think about this.

For a cleaning business I worked with, the average job is around R850.

On a normal day with 2–3 bookings, that’s:
R1,700 – R2,550.

So when the phone doesn’t ring…

It’s not just a quiet day.

It’s money missed.
