The South African Police Service in Phokeng in collaboration with the Community Police Forum, Youth Crime Prevention Desk and other law enforcement agencies within their area of operation led by VISPOL Commander D Ramadiro have conducted a Back to School, Safer Schools awareness campaign on Wednesday, on 15 January 2025 at all schools around the MACHARORA( Mafenya, Chaneng, Robega, Rasimone
The campaign was aimed at raising awareness amongst learners about safety at school, on the way between home and school.
A total of 5 schools within Phokeng Police Station policing precinct, Sector 2 were patrolled and or physically visited.
The campaign sensitize learners about the following topics:
· Gangsterism
· Gender-based violence
· How to report a missing person
· Water safety to prevent drownings
· Bullying
· Dangers of substance Abuse
· Dangerous weapons
· Human Trafficking
· Dangers of Hitchhiking
· Bogus Higher Learning Institutions
School Safety Program as it is a national collaborative engagement between the SAPS and the Department of Education to fight crime in the school environment.
