A LOT is happening in Mzansi and it’s not even December yet. Viral TV shows 📺, spectacular flyovers✈️, kuningi.

Truth is, amidst the drama, South Africa loves a good laugh. So we put our creative hats on and got our talent on a set!

The result, a little nostalgia disguised as a love letter to the great Mzansi sitcoms: Emzini’wezintsizwa, Family Bonds and the likes.

You just may not have known the architect .

Since 2019, Khumo Wa Lehumo has been moving through Johannesburg’s cultural landscape, from the streets and packed rooms of Braamfontein to some of the world’s most unexpected stages.

Their journey started with a love for sound, it became DJing.

DJing became a craft.

And the craft became a passport.

Johannesburg.
Paris.
Switzerland.
Cape Town.
And everywhere in between.

From Tennis Club to Nike events.
From Palladium to Pride.

Khumo’s sound refuses to sit still.

Amapiano. Afrohouse. Afro-tech. Jazz house. Deep house. Old-school house.

Some people enter a room, some take the stage.

Ray Neo Buso has been performing for as long as he can remember.

At six years old, he found dance.

Then came Dramatic Arts.
Then theatre.
Then film.
Then television.
Then presenting.

And somewhere along the way, the performer became the craft.

From the stage with Cape Dance Company and Arepp: Theatre for Life, to dancing across the world aboard TUI Cruises, to the opening and closing ceremonies of the World Choir Games. Ray’s artistry has never belonged to just one stage.
