There’s a kind of strength that doesn’t come from rest, caffeine, or even motivation. It comes from joy.

Not the temporary kind that depends on what’s happening, but the deep, steady joy that comes from knowing God.

When Nehemiah said, “The joy of the Lord is your strength,” he was speaking to people who were emotionally tired and spiritually broken. They had just heard God’s Law after years of exile, and it revealed how far they had drifted from Him.

Instead of letting their sorrow weigh them down, Nehemiah reminded them that their true strength didn’t come from themselves. It came from God’s joy: the joy of being restored, forgiven, and renewed in His presence.

That same joy is available to you.
It’s the quiet confidence that God is still good.
It’s the peace that whispers, “You’re not alone.”
It’s the hope that no matter how heavy things feel, He’s still working.

So today, don’t try to push through on your own.
Let His joy fill your heart, because when your joy is in Him, your strength will not fade.

Now, take a second to pray:
Lord, thank You for being my source of joy and strength. When I feel weary, remind me that Your presence restores me.

Help me find joy not in what I see, but in who You are: unchanging, faithful, and near.

Fill my heart with Your peace today, and let Your joy carry me through whatever comes.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
