I really wonder how much radio presenters earn at these radio stations......

Radio is a brutal industry with many uncertainties. Normally, presenters earn according to their rate per hour and also depends on days and a show you do at the station. For example, primetime shows rate better compared to weekend and graveyard shows.

Radio becomes lucrative when you are experienced and you have really paid your dues in the industry. Even the highest paid presenters today some of them started earning small salaries. I remember many many years ago reading an article about radio salaries at the SABC and it said entry level presenter on a fixed term can earn anything from R9,000 and senior presenter can earn up to R80,000.

🕹️Anele Mdoda-Mgudlwa is South Africa's highest paid radio jock pocketing roughly half a million at 947 followed by Tbo Touch from Metro FM with 399,000+ estimated paycheck.

🕹️Remember the Penny Ntuli saga ? She was earning R2,800 per month at Gagasi FM and left everyone shook to the core. However, to the station defense. Some were saying she was working eight days in a month and hosted the graveyard 1-4 am. So, the salary was reasonable.

🕹️ Remember when Unathi Nkayi left Kaya 959 and she later revealed she was earning R80,000 for her 12:00-15:00 show she anchored. Ukhozi FM Zimiphi Biyela also had a slippery tongue and revealed her R60,000 salary.
