LEGAL AID SA SUCCESSFULLY REOPENS ITS VEREENIGING LOCAL OFFICE
VEREENIGING – Legal Aid South Africa (Legal Aid SA) has successfully marked the official reopening of its Vereeniging Local Office, reaffirming its commitment to bringing justice closer to communities in the Sedibeng region.
The reopening ceremony, held on Friday, 14 November 2025, was attended by Legal Aid SA leadership from both the National Office and Gauteng Provincial Office; legal and non-legal staff members; media and local stakeholders. The event celebrated the organisation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community-based legal support and ensure equitable access to justice for all.
Located at 22 Kruger Street, Vereeniging, the new office offers improved accessibility and a client-friendly environment for individuals seeking legal assistance in criminal, civil, land and labour matters. The reopening follows more than a year of temporary operations from local courts while suitable new premises were being secured.
Speaking at the event, Gauteng Provincial Executive Mr Stephen Mofokeng said the reopening reflected Legal Aid SA’s continued focus on service excellence and community partnership: “Our mission is to make justice accessible to all, especially for those who cannot afford legal representation. The reopening of this office represents more than a new building; it also signifies ongoing service and commitment to the surrounding communities.”
The return of the office has been welcomed by residents of Vereeniging, Sebokeng, Vanderbijlpark and surrounding areas, who rely on Legal Aid SA for free and independent legal services.
Community members are encouraged to visit the new premises for assistance or to contact the office directly for more information.
