Today is World Diabetes Day.

Macadamias are naturally low in carbohydrates, with less than 1g of sugar per 30g serving, making them one of the healthiest snacks to include in a diabetic-friendly diet. Because they contain so little sugar, they have very little impact on blood glucose levels.

They are also rich in monounsaturated fats, which slow digestion, help prevent sharp rises in blood sugar after eating, and support steadier energy. The fibre in macadamias adds to this effect by helping keep blood-sugar levels more stable.

Macadamias also support heart health, which is important as people with diabetes have a higher risk of cardiovascular issues.
