🔥 THE ART OF DECEPTION:
WHEN POLITICIANS START BELIEVING THEIR OWN LIES! 😂🇿🇲

The Moth Media

There is an old saying:

“Fake it until you make it.”

But in Zambia’s 2026 election campaign, some politicians may have taken it a little too far.

They ferried people to rallies to make the crowds look massive.

They allegedly paid people to stand by the roadside and wave like long-lost relatives whenever the motorcade passed.

Then came the musicians, comedians, influencers and social-media gurus. Put them on stage, people scream, phones come out, videos go viral… and suddenly somebody in the campaign office is calculating:

“Those are our votes!” 😂

Then AI arrived.

A crowd of 500 can suddenly look like 50,000. At this rate, we might see a rally stretching from Lusaka to Livingstone! 🤣

The funniest part?

Some politicians may have started believing the propaganda they created themselves.

They saw the crowds.
They saw the likes.
They saw the celebrities.
They saw the dancing.
They saw the roadside waving.
And they concluded:

“We are winning by a landslide!”

But there is one small problem.

THE PEOPLE WERE NOT THERE TO VOTE FOR THEM.

Some came for the music.
Some came for the comedian.
Some came for the free transport.
Some came because their friends were going.

And some probably came simply because there was food. 😂

Because when the voter finally enters that little polling booth, there is no musician singing.
No comedian making jokes.
No influencer shouting, “Let’s goooo!”

No AI-generated crowd.
No convoy.
No roadside cheerleaders.

Just one voter, one ballot paper and one very serious X or tick. 🗳️
And that is where the difference between POLITICAL POPULARITY and POLITICAL THEATRE becomes painfully obvious.

You can manufacture a crowd.
You can manufacture applause.
You can manufacture social-media hype.
But you cannot manufacture a genuine vote.

The greatest victims of the deception may therefore be the deceivers themselves.
They came to fool Zambians...
Only to end up fooling themselves. 😂

History may eventually call this:

THE 2026 ZAMBIAN POLITICAL ART OF DECEIVING THE DECEIVERS.

Because as the old wisdom goes:
You can fool some people some of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

And on Election Day, the ballot box has no feelings for your convoy. 😂🇿🇲

WHEN YOUR HUSBAND WARNS YOU ABOUT A FRIEND, LISTEN!!!

There are some conversations married people dismiss today that they will desperately wish they had taken seriously tomorrow.

If your husband repeatedly expresses discomfort about a particular friend of yours—especially someone who appears to be crossing boundaries, influencing you negatively, disrespecting your marriage, or developing an unhealthy emotional attachment to you—don't simply laugh it off and label him “insecure.”

Sometimes insecurity is real.

But sometimes, what you call insecurity is actually observation.

A man may notice things his wife has normalised because she has become emotionally comfortable with the person.

A strange familiarity.
❌Excessive phone calls.
❌Private jokes.
❌Unnecessary secrecy.
❌Disrespect disguised as friendship.
❌Dirty talk in the name of "That's how we joke with her/him"...

❌Advice that consistently puts the friend before the marriage.

And sometimes the husband sees the smoke long before the wife smells the fire.

📢But here is the important part: a husband's warning is not automatically a divine revelation either.

🤝Marriage requires wisdom from both sides.

A controlling husband can misuse the language of “protecting my marriage” to isolate his wife from everyone.

That is not protection; that is control.

But a wife who deliberately ignores legitimate concerns simply because she doesn't want to lose a friendship is also playing with fire.

The question is not:

“Whose side should I take?”

The better question is:
“What exactly is happening here, and is this friendship strengthening or weakening my marriage?”

Because once you say “I do,” you don't stop having friends—but you do acquire responsibilities that demand boundaries.

🔻Not every friend deserves unrestricted access to your marriage.

🔻Not every person who makes you laugh deserves access to your private problems.

🔻And not everyone who says, “I just want the best for you,” actually wants the best for your home.

Some friendships come with invisible invoices.
You enjoy the company today and pay for the consequences tomorrow.

And let's be honest—some people are not interested in your marriage; they are interested in the emotional vacancy inside it.

💔They wait for the quarrels.
💔They listen to the complaints.
💔They become your “support system.”
💔Then one day, you wake up and realise your friend knows more about your husband than your husband knows about you.

That is not friendship.
That is a boundary problem.

A wise woman does not blindly obey her husband's fears, but neither does she arrogantly dismiss them.

She investigates.
She observes.
She communicates.
She prays.
And she sets boundaries where necessary.

Because protecting a marriage is not about choosing between your husband and your friends.

It is about having enough wisdom to know which relationships deserve a seat at your table—and which ones should remain outside the gate.

After all, you don't have to wait for the house to catch fire before you investigate the smell of smoke.

To whom a brain is given, sense is expected.

STAKEHOLDERS have disagreed over whether voters can use marks other than a cross when casting their ballots, days before the August 13 general election. NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and historian Dr Sishuwa Sishuwa have challenged the Electoral Commission of Zambia’s (ECZ) positio

✅ THE TICK OR ❌ THE X —

Let’s be honest: The tick itself is not the problem.

An X, or another mark can be accepted if it clearly shows the voter’s intention.

But here is the question nobody should be afraid to ask:

If the tick has always been acceptable,
WHY ARE WE HEARING SO MUCH ABOUT IT FIVE DAYS BEFORE ELECTION DAY?

For more than 90 days, Voter Education Facilitators have been moving around the country teaching voters how to mark their ballots.

The message has largely been simple: use the X.

Then, suddenly, we are having a national debate about the ✅.

That timing naturally raises questions.

The opposition is making serious allegations about pre-marked ballots and Tanzania.
Those are allegations—not facts—until evidence is produced.

But dismissing every concern as political noise is equally dangerous.

An election is built on TRUST.
If ECZ knows there is absolutely nothing suspicious, then explain the timing, why the emphasis on the tick 5 days to elections....??
Show the reasons and kill the rumours completely.

And if the opposition has evidence, produce it.

Because democracy cannot survive on “trust us” from either side.

So forget the emotional shouting about ✅ versus ❌.

The real question is:
WHY THE SUDDEN EMPHASIS ON THE TICK—AND WHY NOW?

Zambians deserve answers.
Not panic.
Not propaganda.
Not conspiracy theories.
ANSWERS.
