PRESIDENT LUNGU FORFEITS PRESIDENTIAL HOUSE, I DON'T MIND GOING BACK TO CHAWAMA;
Parliament Buildings, Lusaka:
President Edgar Lungu has declared an end to the construction of retirement houses for former Zambian Heads of State.
The President, who has seen his approval ratings shoot up as he delivered his first address to Parliament as Head of Government says he does not mind going back to live in his house back in his home constituency of Chawama.
"Let this forfeiture start with me,i don't mind going back to Chawama" President Lungu declared.
And a cross section of society has heaped praise on the President for making the bold decision saying it was economically sustainable.
Lusaka youth Philip Mubanga says President Lungu had shown he had a heart for Zambians and meant well for the country.
"Listening to the President Lungu speak gives a sense the man has a heart for this country, I have no doubt in my mind the man mean well for this country. I mean look at his declaration of foregoing having a nicely built mansion." We have a listening man, the Copperbelt University graduate said.
"The most practical and inspiring Parliamentary Opening speech I have heard in a long time. I just hope his team take up the mantle and quickly implement the changes. Long live His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, this is what a youthful president should be saying and preaching. Thanks a lot." Derick Chekwe said.
