Mr. President Ba Hakainde Hichilema, as you push for constitutional amendments, why didn’t you include provisions that hold leaders accountable? If truly the Constitutional amendments are meant to serve the people, then shouldn’t it demand that a leader steps down when they fail to deliver on their commitments?
Mr. President, Why Didn’t You Include These in Your Amendments?
1. If you fail to deliver on your campaign promises, you must step down.
2. If you fail to reduce the dollar exchange rate by 14:00, you must step down.
3.If you fail to bring the price of a 25kg bag of mealie meal down to K50, you must step down.
4. If you fail to reduce fertilizer prices to K250, you must step down.
5. If you fail to end load shedding, you must step down.
6. If you fail to lower the cost of living, you must step down.
7. If you fail to cut down on excessive foreign trips, you must step down.
8. If you fail to make it easier for small businesses to operate due to unreasonable load shedding, you must step down.
9. If you fail to stop police brutality, you must step down.
10. If you continue using the police for political arrests, you must step down.
11. If you fail to fight corruption, you must step down.
12. If you borrow recklessly from the IMF, you must step down.
13. If you keep making speeches instead of delivering results, you must step down.
14. If you don’t put an end to political intimidation, you must step down.
15. If you fail to bring down the price of fuel, you must step down.
16. If you commission unfinished CDF toilets, you must step down.
17. If you fail to revive the economy, you must step down.
18.If you don’t take action against violent cadres, you must step down.
19. If you refuse to move to state house wasting fuel moving to and from Chalala, and losing lives of people hit by the speeding motorcade, you must step down.
20. And most importantly, if you mislead the people with lies, you must step down.
