Womb Care Clinic is a specialised Women's Clinic located in Solwezi, Zambia, It is founded on the idea that women deserve an exclusive health system that puts them at the centre of care. Its desire is to offer a holistic approach to health services, through the core principle of “the science of caring in conjunction with the science of curing”.
Womb Care Clinic invites applications from suitably qualified Zambians to fill the following positions:
1) MIDWIFE (2 POSITIONS)
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To provide care and guidance to mothers prenatally, antenatally, and postnatally.
2. To provide intrapartum and post-delivery care of mothers and baby, by providing emotional, psychological, and physical support during these times.
3. Conduct Mother and Child Clinics, Reproductive Health Clinics and Under 5 monitoring.
4. Identification of High-Risk Pregnancies, with timely referral to Obstetricians.
5. Helping patients and their partners to cope with miscarriages, stillbirths, neonatal deaths, and terminations.
6. Provision of sound advice to patients regarding diets, exercises, and medications suitable for pregnancy, while also conducting pregnancy related exercises.
7. Taking and recording patients’ vitals, ordering, and conducting diagnostic and bedside tests.
8. Proper record keeping and conducting monthly reporting to the District Health Office.
9. To act as a liaison between Womb Care Clinic and District Health Office.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Full School Certificate or equivalent.
2. Degree or Associate Degree in Midwifery.
3. Relevant and applicable professional certification.
4. Current and valid practicing license.
5. Effective and efficient communication skills.
6. Patient and compassionate.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
1. Two (2) years post qualifying experience.
2. Proven strong problem solving, analytic, and clinical assessment skills.
2) SONOGRAPHER (1 POSITION)
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conducting ultrasound imaging for pregnant women through each trimester.
2. Conducting specialised images such as ECHO, Doppler and Sono-hysterograms.
3. Explaining sonographic procedures to patients and providing counselling on all procedure.
4. Ensuring clear images for diagnostic purposes and adjusting the sonographic equipment when necessary.
5. Selection of appropriate settings and adjusting patients’ positions accordingly.
6. Monitoring and caring for patients to ensure their safety and comfort during procedures.
7. Selecting and examining images, looking for differences between healthy and pathological areas, and determining if the scope of examination should be extended, based on preliminary findings.
8. Presenting the sonograms and preliminary findings to the Obstetrician.
9. Completing the appropriate documentation and maintaining patients’ histories and medical records.
10. Assisting Obstetricians and Gynaecologists during invasive procedures.
11. Maintaining and cleaning the sonographic equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Full School Certificate or equivalent.
2. Diploma in Radiography (with proven Sonography Skills)
3. Relevant and applicable professional certification
4. Current and valid practicing license.
5. Strong technical, communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
6. Ability to explain technical terms in a clear and understandable way.
7. Good eyesight and attention to detail.
8. Strong analytical, judgment and decision-making skills.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
1. Two (2) years post qualifying experience.
