Ndola, Luanshya, Kitwe & Mufulira Quadrilateral

This is really not good! Let's hope something is done about it, as this is a "main road" connecting the Kitwe City Centre to the north (Chimwemwe; Chambishi; Mufulira; Chingola).

Every bad part of this street should be worked on soon, as this inter-city road is important for a lot of travellers and this city generally does not have enough bypasses to recommend to citizens (only trucks are expected to use alternative routes; small cars are expected to use this very street to get from the city centre to the Wilson Mofya Chakulya Toll Plaza).

This is what we want to hear! Let's all take a look at this road a year from now and see the good works that this "Public-Private Partnership" is doing to this road in the Copperbelt Province.

A while back, we took a look at the price list for the "Taxi and Minibus Association" in the Copperbelt Province. There was an option named "Ndola to Mufulira" and there was a slightly more expensive option called "Ndola To Mufulira (via Kitwe)" and we've been asking ourselves from that time exactly why people have to pay more to spend an extra 35 km on the road to go to the same place?

The Distance from the Roundabout adjacent to Levy Mwanawasa Stadium up to the Kitwe Road & Chatulinga Street junction in Mufulira is 60 km using the road in the video here while it is 95 km if one chooses to pass through Kitwe first to arrive at the same junction.

So, once this is done, people can finally stop using that longer route to drive between towns that are basically adjacent to one another.

Nice to hear that the stretch from the starting point in Ndola up to Kamalasha (Sakania Border area) is now done. We now wait for the remaining 42 km to Mufulira to be complete.

We are happy to hear that the section of the Ndola-Mufulira Road from the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium roundabout up to the Sakania Border turn-off in Kamalasha has now been substantially complete. We are also happy to hear that the Tom Mtine Toll Plaza has also been complete and is ready for operations.

This road has been bad for way-too-long and we look forward to the entire route being complete so that citizens stop opting to take the longer route through the Luanshya Turn-off, Kitwe and Sabina in order to get to Mufulira from Ndola. Citizens will soon reduce their trip to 60 km instead of the longer 95 km through Kitwe.

This road forms part of the "Quadrilateral" that we have in our name. We believe in all four towns and cities (Ndola, Luanshya, Kitwe and Mufulira) being properly connected to and accessible from one another.

We are happy to hear that the Abraham Mokola Toll Plaza on the M6 road (Luanshya-Fisenge-Masangano Road) was commissioned a week ago by the Ministry of Infrastructure,Housing and Urban Development - Zambia

Whether people use this shortcut (M6 road) or they take the route through Ndola, a Kapiri Mposhi to Kitwe trip has got two toll gates.

We hope vehicles are utilizing this "shortcut" while road works on the "Lusaka-Ndola Dual Carriageway" continue in the Itawa and city centre neighbourhoods of Ndola. And we hope Luanshya is benefiting a lot from this newly rehabilitated road.

Wonderful news!

It seems these people have beaten their deadline of 30 December 2024 for this road to be "ready for use". And thank you to the Road Development Agency for the reporting it has been doing and will continue to do on various projects such as this one.

The entire 41-kilometre route from Masangano to Luanshya (designated as the "M6 road" in the Roads & Road Traffic Act, Cap 464 of Zambia) has now been rehabilitated!
